About NOTW
A NAME BUILT ON A DECISION, NOT A DESIGN BRIEF.
NOT OF THIS WORLD started with a phrase that's been passed around for centuries, long before it belonged to any brand: the idea that you can be fully present in a place without letting that place define you. We didn't set out to build a faith brand or a merch line off the back of it. We set out to build clothing for the specific feeling of standing slightly apart from your surroundings — on purpose, by choice, not by accident.
That's the whole premise. Everyone we've talked to about NOTW — skaters, students, people three years into a career they built sideways — has their own version of not quite fitting the mold they were handed. The clothes are a way of naming that without having to explain it.
What "in the world, but not of it" means here
It isn't a call to withdraw. It's the opposite — stay in the room, stay in the conversation, stay visible — but hold onto your own shape while you do it. We print that line small, once, on a woven tab most people never notice until they've owned the piece a while. That's deliberate. The idea should live in how the clothes are worn, not shout from the chest.
Why we build the way we build
Heavyweight fabric. Small runs. No collection that exists just to fill a calendar. If a piece doesn't earn its place in permanent rotation, it doesn't ship. That's meant a slower release schedule than most streetwear labels run on, and we're fine with that trade.
The community around it
NOTW isn't tied to one city, one scene, or one belief system. The people who wear it are the ones who recognize the feeling in the name — that's the only membership requirement. If that's you, welcome. If you're still deciding, the clothes will probably tell you faster than we can.
